Iverson Catering does Sundance 2009

Despite the down economy, this year’s Sundance was still busy as ever for us. From dinners for Turner Broadcasting to setting up bars for Island Def Jam until 3am, Iverson Catering never slowed down. Fortunately, having the two branches of the company allowed us to bring our Charleston catering chefs over for additional support to help with the surplus of events that occur during this time of year in Park City.

Some of the highlights this year included hosting a wine tasting with Johndrow Vineyards from Napa Valley, being the exclusive caterer for singer / songwriter, Mariah Carey, preparing a dinner for Google (execs?) in a private Deer Valley home, and of course running into premiere actors and independent movie producers like Heather Graham and Paul Mezey.

From the culinary background, it is interesting to see what products are being pushed during this time as these will most likely dictate new trends in the industry. Items that are bound to make a splash this year – Absinthe (Blue Coat is a new facility in Philadelphia that premiered its new hallucinogenic liquor), Tyku (a Sake liquor that was big hit with the ladies), and Go Nuts pistachios (but I don’t think those ever go out of style)!

After catching our breath from Sundance and the onslaught of New Yorkers and the Los Angeles crowd that hit Main Street ParkCity in a ten-day concentrated period, we’re gearing up for Wedding season in Charleston! Here comes the bride…
